If you want the best and the longest sticking time, it is better to do some preparation. Usually, sticky issues are made by beginners, so if you are a novice, you will definitely need to know more about how to get the most out of your adhesive pad.
- Store your adhesive pad properly
An adhesive pad is sensitive, to store it properly, you should consider the environment at room temperature and areas away from moisture, water, and more.
- Find a smooth and flat surface
It is important to find a good place for your adhesive car mount. Make sure the surface is smooth and flat.
- Dashboard surface must be clean
The first and most common issue here isn’t related to the adhesive pad, it depends on the surface the adhesive pad is being used upon. A permanent adhesive pad is especially affected by this matter. So if you use it, make sure you clean the dashboard surface thoroughly.
To make sure it is clean, always rub it with alcohol. After you have cleaned the dashboard surface, take some time until alcohol vaporizes, make sure the dashboard surface is dry, then the adhesive pad will be able to stick for a longer period of time and to stick properly.
- Higher or lower temperature
A surface at 18 degrees Celsius is considered optimal for adhesion. Using this, you will get the perfect relation between the adhesive pad and the surface. Basically, your adhesive car mount will stick much, much better.
Higher temperatures will make adhesive too soft and almost useless. On the other hand, lower temperatures will maintain the adhesive too hard to connect to another surface, so it won’t stick.
But, what to do is the surface is cold? Simply warm up the tape and the dashboard surface and use it then. The result is always impressive.
- Wait 24 hours before first use.
It is easy to pull off the car mount in the seconds you install it. But as time goes, it will become very sticky. There is a sticky layer created between the adhesive pad and the surface as time goes by. So don’t move it in 24-48 hours.
